Jonathan Goodman

Jon Goodman is freelance clarinetist and saxophonist and teacher from Greensboro, NC. This will be Jon’s seventh year with The Piedmont Wind Symphony, but he also stays active in the classical world performing regularly with Carolina Philharmonic, Western Piedmont Symphony, among others. He is also the other half of Chamber Music Duo, GremlinsDuo with Tim Fitzgerald out of Atlanta. As a clinician and lecturer, Mr. Goodman has given masterclasses and lectures at Appalachian State University, Duke University, and University of North Carolina at Greensboro among others.

 

 

Originally from Syracuse, NY, Jon stays active performing as well running his own woodwind repair business Goodman Custom Woodwinds. 

 

His primary teachers include Norbert Buskey, Raphael Sanders, and Eric Mandat. He received his Bachelors of Music from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and his Masters of Music from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

 

Jon enjoys running and biking in his free time.
