Aleksandr Witt
Bass Trombone
Aleksandr Witt currently serves as Bass Trombonist for the Piedmont Wind Symphony. Mr. Witt earned his B. M. from Western Carolina University where he studied with Dr. Dan Cherry, and his M. M. from The University of Maryland, College Park, where he studied with Matthew Guilford of the National Symphony. Witt has studied orchestral and chamber music from members of the National Symphony in Washington D.C. as well as other prominent chamber musicians including Chris Gekker and Greg Miller.
Witt currently serves on the faculty of Catawba College and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, and also serves as the Bass Trombonist for the Western Piedmont Symphony. An active freelance performer in the Piedmont area, Witt has performed with the Da Capo Brass, as well as the North Carolina Brass Band, Rock Hill Symphony, Spartanburg Symphony and Salisbury Symphony. Witt currently resides in Salisbury with his wife and two children.
